The Brilliant Club
We were very fortunate to be invited by the SEREN network to offer 14 of our More Able and Talented learners across Year 8, 9 and 10 to take part in the Summer launch of the Scholars Programme by The Brilliant Club. The launch took place in Jesus College, Oxford University on the 10th March, 2023.
The Brilliant Club train PhD tutors to deliver The Scholars Programme in their partner schools and colleges across the UK. They share their subject knowledge and passion for learning with small groups of pupils aged 8-18. This fantastic opportunity will help our identified MAT learners to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to secure a place at a competitive university in the future.
The group of 14 learners will work on a research project relating to the impact and effects of social media on politics with their PhD mentor over the coming months, culminating in a Graduation ceremony in another UK-based university in the summer term.
The trip was a great success, and we thank the SEREN network for funding this opportunity. Our learners had a wonderful time, as can be seen from the photographs. We look forward to offering further exciting opportunities to other learners in our More Able and Talented cohort over the coming months.
