Tasty Careers
A group of our Year 9 learners have been busy over the last few months in preparations for the ‘Tasty Careers’ competition. The competition is run by Careers Wales and Tasty Careers School Enterprise Challenge. The groups have been working as a team to design a new healthy dish (they both chose a dessert) for a restaurant menu. They ensured the dish had as many sustainable Welsh ingredients as possible and cost no more than £22.
Thank you to Ms Jenkins (food teacher) and Mrs Lowri Dyer (Numeracy co-ordinator) for supporting the learners. On Wednesday 25th January, the 2 groups presented their dish idea to judges Aled Evans from Careers Wales and Edward Morgan from Castell Howell.
The winning group succeeded onto the semi-finals, which will be held next month. We all wish them well with their preparations for the next round.
