Sea Cadets

Congratulations to Alex Stroud Year 8, Jamie Stroud Year 9 and Charlotte Stroud Year 13 and their sister Ashleigh Stroud, a former Bro Dinefwr pupil, who attended a Sea Cadets Drill competition recently.

They were performing as an armed guard team and on the 13th March Alex and Jamie had already competed and won their district competition, competing against 9 teams in the West wales district.

On the 9th April it was on to Area, all teams in the South West Area (including teams from England) that had won their District competition competed here for the right to represent the area in the National competition. They were competing against 5 teams and they won. This competition was held at HMS Raleigh in Plymouth.

Because they had won Area they were able to compete in the Nationals, which was held on the 23rd April, where only the best of the best teams compete. Here Alex and Jamie were joined by their older sister Charlotte as a replacement for another cadet. This was also held at HMS Raleigh.

Here they competed against 7 teams from all over the UK and they won! They won best guard and best guard display.

This officially makes them the best armed guard team in the Sea cadets in the UK for this year.

Well done the Stroud family!
