Competing in the Eisteddfod? Join the Urdd!

You will be aware that the Urdd Eisteddfod is happening in Llandovery in 2023. As a school local to the Eisteddfod next year, we are encouraging all pupils to become involved in the Eisteddfod, competing in at least one competition, so that the school takes part in as many competitions as possible. We would really like a significant Ysgol Bro Dinefwr presence in our local Eisteddfod in 2023, and would appreciate the support of parents and guardians to this end.

There are opportunities for stage competitions such as singing, instrumental, dancing, acting and recitation, but also many off-stage competitions for Art, D&T, writing and cooking, to name but a few. There is already a lot of interest in these competitions by our pupils, but they are only able to compete if they are members of the Urdd. This is also the case for any Urdd Sports competitions that take place during the year.

Parents/Guardians will need to register their child as a member of the Urdd. Click here for full information on how to become a member of the Urdd. The cost is £10 per child or £25 per family if there are more than 3 children. If you are eligible for Free School Meals, School Uniform Grant or Education Maintenance Grant, the cost is £1 per child.

The Urdd offers many opportunities for young people. Click here for information on all the support and opportunities for young people offered by the Urdd.
