BBC100 Share Your Story

It was a great pleasure to welcome the 'BBC100 Share Your Story' and 'Bitesize Careers' tours to the school yesterday as part of the BBC's centenary celebrations. 

Throughout the day, the BBC ambassadors, Jennifer Jones, BBC Wales Today news presenter, Carwyn Glyn, actor on Pobol y Cwm and Lowri Jones, Head of Development and Projects at Golwg shared their stories with our Year 9 learners. The pupils had the opportunity to ask questions and to find out more about the ambassadors including their history and career. 

It was also very interesting to listen to the discussion of the three panelists, on careers in Storytelling. During the presentation it was mentioned about the breadth of possible jobs that are available and that on your doorstep and of course about the importance of stories in a wide variety of different careers including advertising, News or Sports reports, game design and script writing. 

We thank them for an interesting conversation and for inspiring so many learners to start thinking about a possible career in the various fields.
