General course information
The course aims to develop the learner’s enthusiasm, creative and linguistic skills as they express themselves confidently in written and spoken Welsh. Learner’s will develop the ability to respond to literature and modern cultural materials from several mediums, and in doing so fire their appreciation of our Welsh cultural heritage. In addition, the course is relevant to the requirements of the modern world in light of the more current aspects that are presented.

Given the increasing demand for a bilingual workforce, the AS/A level qualification in Welsh can be a foundation for careers in various fields such as; the media and broadcasting, the arts, the health service, politics, Law, education, childcare, the civil service, public relations, translation, and local government. In any public employment in Wales a qualification that demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing through the medium of Welsh is of great benefit.
Ideal Entry requirements
Although each application will be considered individually it would be beneficial that applicants have a grade B or above in Welsh Language and Literature
