Medical Science

General course information

The Extended Certificate in Medical Science will enable progression to higher education to a range of applied science programmes, such as biomedical science, life sciences, and physiology. It is equivalent in size to one A level. Studying the Level 3 Extended Certificate in Medical Science allows time in the curriculum for other qualifications to be studied alongside it. These would typically be A levels or another applied qualification in an area such as health and social care and many more.

 Career Prospects

Alongside other Level 3 qualifications, a Level 3 Extended Certificate in Medical Science is accepted in most Higher Education establishments for a variety of courses. For example, it is accepted for most nursing courses, and in some establishments for physiotherapy.

Ideal Entry requirements

Although each application will be considered individually, it would be beneficial to have gained C grades or above in GCSE Science, Mathematics and English.
