Geography
General course information
The A level course is divided into 5 units. 4 units are examinations with Units 1 and 2 in Year 12 and Units 3 and 4 in Year 13. There is also an additional unit of coursework in Year 13.
The units focus on Changing Landscapes, Coastal Landscapes and Tectonic Hazards.
In Year 13 we study Global Systems with a focus on the Water and Carbon Cycle. We also study Global Migration Processes and Pattern. There are contemporary themes which include Weather and Climate and China. As part of the course there will be an opportunity to complete an independent investigation on any theme related to the syllabus.

Ideal Entry requirements
Although each application will be considered on an individual basis it would be preferable to have a B grade or higher in GCSE Geography or the equivalent in English/Welsh language if they haven’t studied Geography at GCSE.
