Hair and Beauty

course information

We are giving students the opportunity to complete either the Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Hair Services or the Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Both courses are aimed at students 14+ and are delivered by experts in both industries. Training sessions will consist of practical and theory sessions, you will be required to complete on-line multiple choice tests to provide evidence of your knowledge and understanding. The qualifications are equivalent to 2 GCSE's grade C or above. Students have the option to progress onto their NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy. 

The Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Hair Services course covers, Working in the hair industry, Follow health and safety practices in the salon, Client consultation for hair services, Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp, Promote products and services to clients in a salon, The art of dressing hair, Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector, Provide scalp massage services, The art of colouring hair and Plaiting and twisting.

The Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy course covers, Working in beauty related industries, Follow health and safety in the salon, Client care and communication in beauty related industries, Provide facial skincare, Provide manicure treatments, Provide pedicure treatments, Apply make-up, Shaping and contouring eyebrows, Provide nail art and Head massage.

This course is provided by The Hair and Beauty Academy, and all lessons will take place at Ysgol Bro Dinefwr.  The course has a limited number of places and if necessary the school will make informed decisions on enrolment.
