GCSE Business supports learners to develop an understanding of the activities that make a business successful. The course is split up into four units. Two units are examinations and two units are non-examination assessments.
Unit 1: Introduction to the Business World (Written examination)
Unit 1 is worth 30% of the qualification. A written examination with questions requiring objective responses, short and extended answers, with some based around applied situations.
Unit 2: Key Business Considerations (Non-examination assessment)
Unit 2 is worth 15% of the qualification. The assessment will feature tasks based on two themes from the unit content which will be set by WJEC each year.
Unit 3:Business Strategies for Success (Written examination)
Unit 3 is worth 30% of the qualification. A written examination with questions requiring objective responses, short and extended answers, with some based around applied situations.
Unit 4: Business Creation (Non-examination assessment)
Unit 4 is worth 25% of the qualification. An assignment, which will include a brief and several tasks.
