Art and Design
course information
The course is designed to provide opportunity for candidates to gain a wide a range of visual experiences in art and design. It is a demanding but enjoyable course. The course consists of two units: Unit 1, the Portfolio (coursework unit) and Unit 2, the Externally Set Assignment (exam unit). Both components are internally marked and externally moderated.
Over two years, candidates are encouraged to work in a wide range of Art and Design areas including Drawing, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Painting, Printmaking and Sculpture.
Candidates will have the opportunity of placing an emphasis on those areas in which they have the greatest interest and the programme of work will be directed to developing individual skills and strengths. This course will develop the skills necessary to continue on a journey to a career in Art.
