Eisteddfod T MathematicsÂ
Congratulations to all who entered and especially to IFAN DAVIES from Ysgol Bro Dinefwr who is among the 11 finalists.
In 1983 the National Scientific Society launched a mathematical competition in Welsh for secondary schools. The link between that competition and the Urdd has developed over the years and the awards are jointly awarded by the Guild and the Scientific Society. In the current circumstances it is surprising that over 300 Year 8 pupils were able to enter this year’s competition representing 11 secondary schools and each will receive a certificate in the name of the Urdd and the Society. Of this total, many have achieved a very high standard and 11 of them have shined to the extent that they will receive an award in recognition of their achievement.
The success of the mathematical competition over the years is testament to the enthusiasm of schools and pupils in an important and exciting field.
To understand the virus you need to understand the maths.
