Cyber Discovery, HM Government’s Cyber Schools Programme, is an extracurricular learning programme for students aged 13-18 across the UK. More than 80,000 young people have taken part so far, working through online challenges and labs designed to enhance their technical skills and knowledge. The programme begins with a fun assessment phase and moves on to a vast, gamified environment that includes real world cyber security scenarios. Our aim is to inspire students to consider cyber security as a career and as a result help reduce the cyber skills gap that exists in the UK.
A student from last year’s year 13, Rhodri Davies was successful in all 5 rounds of the Cyber Discovery programme and went on to study Government funded professional qualifications to pass with certified professional status as an analyst – GIAC Certified Incident Handler . Rhodri is hoping to pursue his interest in this career further.
Zachary Chung, currently in year 11 has passed the first round of the Cyber Discovery program and is due to begin the second stage shortly.
